This month, BIC explores the monthly activities of Curtis Guyer, a vice president, investment officer, at SouthTrust Securities, Inc. in Ocala, Fla. With a population of about 50,000, Ocala is a retirement and ranching center in very competitive central Florida.

Guyer, another rep and an administrative assistant cover 13 SouthTrust branches stretching from Gainesville to Leesburg. The branches account for approximately $400 million in retail deposits. Guyer estimates that they are on target to gross about $800,000 this year.
